Criminal and White Collar Defense

Our lead criminal and white collar defense lawyer, Patrick Reznik, served as a prosecutor for almost 7 years prior to joining our firm, an experience which has equipped him with a unique perspective on counseling and advising clients facing criminal investigation or indictment. His hands-on experience ensures that we are well prepared to negotiate with government prosecutors on our clients’ behalf. We recognize that the consequences of criminal penalties include the immeasurable costs associated with damage to one's good name and reputation and we pursue every viable option to mitigate or relieve all penalties. We work hard to convince the government to decline prosecution. When necessary, we proceed to trial.

Our attorneys provide a full range of services to clients in both traditional media (such as broadcast and print) and new media businesses requiring assistance on First Amendment matters. Our practice includes litigation and counseling on a wide variety of media law and First Amendment issues, including defamation, privacy, newsgathering, Freedom of Information Act, challenges to governmental and private regulations of speech, commercial speech, advertising, copyright, and Internet and e-commerce.

Securities Litigation

Although the economic cycle ebbs and flows, securities litigation has steadily persisted through all market conditions. When the equity markets are strong, rising stock prices lead to euphoria and increased risk-taking by investors. In those circumstances, expectations regarding substantial returns make it no surprise that aggrieved parties in securities transactions frequently turn to legal action for redress. Similarly, when market and other economic conditions sour, parties inevitably look to the legal system for a financial remedy. George & Brothers' attorneys are experienced in a wide range of securities litigation.
